After reading all about Shabd on The Maker from this post I got all inspired. I had a piece of pastel mint knit that has been sitting in my fabric box for ages and I thought I’ll experiment on that. Sadly I am always too eager to do the thing to post making of pictures so you’ll just have to look at the end result which is super cool. For instructions and techniques check over at honestly…wtf. I chose a simple version of the piping one they showed. Basically I decided which way I would want the stripes to go (across the body, since I was going to cut this into a dress) and rolled it up doubled it over and put a ton of rubber bands on it. I tried to be patient and read a book at the same time as I stirred, that lasted 15 minutes before my arm was going to fall off…but the results are great and I’ve totally planned a tie-dye party in the next of weeks. Yeah for summer!
