I had the pleasure of meeting up with New Zealand bloggers Katherine Lowe of Katherineisasweome – best website name ever – and recent transplant Isaac Hindin Miller of Isaaclikes over lunch at Cafe Gitane while Katherine was visiting. We chatted about Americans, good manners, travel, blogs, fashion and home. Having not lived at home (NZ) for nearly ten years, when bloggers didn’t exist it’s exciting to see where we’ve come from and with people like Katherine and Isaac where we can expect it to head to.
I didn’t manage to get to the bottom of where they first began as blog buddies but their blogs certainly compliment each other and serve as northern/southern hemisphere parallels now that Isaac has made the move (despite his loathing for cold weather) to try his hand at NY.
In between bites of eggplant this is what Katherine had to say about my bags – HERE. And what I took away from our meeting is that it’s always inspiring to be around others that are passionate about their work and do it more for the love of it than for any other reason. Especially as of late I’ve been doing some interesting collaborations which once they’re done I’ll have more to tell you. But something I can tell you is I’m been having some Skype sessions with Spanish Photographer Sergio de Luz who is coming to New York in the next month to shoot my SS12 lookbook.
