Borrowing a line from Vampire Weekend, another posting to add to yesterdays. Necklaces with charms made from discarded bullet casings. To quote young designer Lovetta Conto “I thought if I could take something that caused so much pain and destruction and melt it down into something beautiful, I would be showing that transformation is possible.” Again, shopping with a cause – all profits going to Strongheart Fellowship Program.

Trigger Happy
I’m kind of in love with this ring. Coming from a family who hunt – though after my one kill, I was sworn off for life - it’s about as close as I get now a days to actually pulling the trigger.

Heavy Metal
Bartering was originally a way to get around the fact your crops hadn’t cashed in just yet. In modern day times more of a way to prevent extra interest mounting on your credit card and to do trades with creative friends. A jeweler that I found on Etsy and I did a swap recently, she took the marvelous Leslie in black:
and I got this fantastic ring – Persephone’s Jewel
I love the weight of the piece, the blackened colour and the ‘gem’ inset.
The designer is Blood Milk – aka JL Schnabel. PA based and drawn to sorrow, death, religion, the macabre, Victorian, fables and art. Beautiful quality work and careful and thoughtful design.

All White Long
Just found these images of Maison Martin Margiela’s jewelry, I am really returning to a simpler more elegant way of dressing. As I sit here in jeans, tank and thick white men’s cardigan embroidered with giant deer head on the back. Sometimes it’s chilly and you have to wear what keeps you warm…But seriously I would be happy to receive any of these in my stocking.
Santa are you listening??

CAMOUFLAGE AND ILLUSION-TESSA BLAZEY
I just found this tough Melbourne jeweler Tessa Blazey. Her work feels very architectural, very urban planning city council.
