New Look
I was looking to design a logo for my brand, which I’ve been meaning to do for a long time now. But nailing down just one look has been nearly impossible! It’s like when you go shopping with a really specific item in mind, once you find what you want you have to stop looking or you change your mind. Here is what made the final cut! I like that the segments cut up the ‘r’ and ‘d’ which stand for reid.damnit and Evan incorporated the phrase that I had tattooed on my wrist as part of the circle.
And then the next step was changing my website which I’ve been wanting to do for a long time as well. It started with a photo my PR Jessica Goldfond posted just yesterday or was it today? Lots of photos in different sizes and styles hung on the wall.
It took me like 3 okay it was more like 4 hours to change it up. Still with a couple of things to add to it but overall I love the new look. Really I just needed any excuse to add some of my photos, and put that video by Blackmarket Boo on the front page. Visit here www.reiddamnit.com

Genius behind the Genius
Right before Christmas I hired Jessica Goldfond of The Shiny Squirrel to do what I cannot – talk about me. While I’m not shy to recant the story about the girl flossing on the L-train (the phrase goes The World is your oyster, not the World is your bathroom…), exerts from Seinfeld or what random people yell at me – “hey red, I like your hair”. Jessica is a one woman amaze-machine working harder than anyone I know. Rand Niederhoffer of Thistle & Clover interviews her here on Brooklyn Exposed.
Jessica Goldfond, a longtime Williamsburg resident and co-founder of the PR company Shiny Squirrel, has positioned herself as a connoisseur of all things Brooklyn-based. Through Shiny Squirrel, Jessica’s been helping stores, magazines and consumers navigate the Brooklyn design landscape for the past five years.
“I knew all these people working from their homes and there was no way for them to get exposure. A lot of people didn’t know how to navigate the online world and they didn’t know how to get in touch with editors. I’m trying to create that platform for them.”
Thanks to a strategic partnership between International Playground and Shiny Squirrel, a host of Brooklyn-based furniture, clothing and jewelry designers will get to show their goods off to Manhattan-based buyers and editors who can peruse their selections on their side of the East River. The event is open to the public too, so we hope to see you there enjoying an evening of fun evening of sales, booze, and meeting the designers behind the brands!
This will all take place at Shiny Squirrel’s pop-up shop at New York’s Ace Hotel on Wednesday, February 23rd. from 5:00-9:00pm. 20 West 29th Street.
Designers on hand are Forestbound, Elizabeth Knight Jewelry, Symmetry Goods, LAYERxlayer, Christian Beaujean, Species by the Thousands, Molly Rose, Post, Bhon, Georgia Varidakis, WE ARE HERE, reid.damnit and Laura Lombardi.
