I love a look behind the scenes – in a play, in a restaurant in a factory. I want to know what makes something tick. Cue my new favourite website The Makers by Jennifer Causey that gives studio tours of Brooklyn bakers, designers, painters, artists. I’m loving Shabd’s studio, so much light. And I want to go out and tie-dye everything now…

Mini Mini Market – new Stockist
Do you live in Williamsburg? Lucky you! Go get your vintage Schwinn and cycle over to Mini Mini Market - I just dropped off some of those glorious Summer Clutches I mentioned a few days ago. I’ve long been a customer of theirs and Shoe Market, so I am very excited to be working with them with my new goods!

Me, Vintage and White Castle
Racked NY asked my opinion on hidden shopping gems. This relatively unknown spot in my neighbourhood Atlantis Attic is phenomenal for great finds. You have to search a little, but it’s well worth it. Letterman jackets, suede booties, fur hats, silk scarves, you get the picture. For the whole article read it HERE

One Woman Wunderkind
Yep, that’s me, according to Catherine Blair Pfander of NBC New York’s The Thread. Catherine came over to my work/live and we had some pecan pie from The Blue Stove and chatted about what I’m up to. Check the whole article HERE

Freedom, Truth, Beer – Dodgeball
A friend of mine Dave Nardone was showing me his updated website. And while he has done some beautiful work consulting with Kate Spade, this one he did for GOOD Magazine really appealed to me.
We don’t have Dodgeball in NZ and I kind of wish we did!

Shop in BK!
I’m very excited to announce that Fort Greene, Brooklyn will be the first to see the FW 10/11 drop of reid.damnit bags. Beautifully calm and serene boutique Thistle & Clover run by Camilla Gale and Rand Niederhoffer were the first to see the new collection and will be the first to stock up. Delicate jewelry, muted Fall knits, silky dresses and personal favourite footwear Marais flats.
And all I can think of when I think of the name of their boutique is Joan Jett and The Black Hearts singing Crimson and Clover, which isn’t such a bad way to remember where you need to dust off your credit card…
Pop-Up!
I’m joining the revolution that is the pop-up. Care of Homemade Brooklyn I’ll be participating in April’s shift around the BK. Save on shipping and walk yourselves via the L Train (Lorimer stop) to:
