Craigslist Fitness Fail

I was looking for a tiered rack to house all my leather hides and somehow I stumbled on this ad.  I love the honesty…

Up for sale is 1 almost new rowing machine. I figured I could watch TV and burn some calories, after using this once I decided I would rather watch TV and drink some calories. The machine folds up and surprisingly isn’t much of a pain to do so. It also doubles as a hat/clothing rack.

Let me know if you have any questions! If you would like a photo of the actual machine let me know. Below is a stock photo but mine looks exactly the same. There is no wear/tear on it.

Cash only, must pick up

Product Features:
Home rowing machine with compact footprint–23.5 x 46 inches
Adjustable gas-shock resistance
Electronic Monitor shows time, stroke count, and calories burned
Sturdy, steel frame construction
Folds for easy storage

Water Tower Re-Work

I found out recently about Tom Fruin’s water tower project and had to see it for myself, I love his concept of taking salvaged and found objects, reworking them and giving them new life.  Not long after I got down to Dumbo where it’s housed, my camera battery started to die.   So other than the first image, all photos are from his site.  To see it for yourself oil up your ten-speed because cyclists get the best view from the Manhattan cycle path, how rad is that?!

Peaking out from Pearl St.

Glorious!

Salvaged plexiglass and steel – beautiful

And then these are some of his other projects (all photos from his website) that I think are kind of cool too, also using everyday items found on the street.

full house?

Style for Miles

I am super lucky that I can basically wear whatever I want to work, but every now and again despite not having any limitations I find myself staring into my closet doing the classic “I have nothing to wear” shrugs.  Today I’m definitely taking some direction from Gaby Basora of Tucker.  She seems to have that “effortlessly interesting and elegant at the same time” thing down pat, and kind of a little 70′s which I’m definitely digging right now.  All photos and video by Style Like U

How cute is this illustration? Kim Roselier for Tucker – the rest is up on her site.

The Luncheon

So I have lived in NYC for close to 8 years and unbelievably haven’t visited the New York Public Library, what a bad New Yorker I am.  But I rectified this last week and checked out an exhibit titled Lunch Hour NYC  and kind of had a blast cycling around the city on such a beautiful day.

The entrance is just beautiful, gorgeous light fixtures I’d like to incorporate into my future dream home

View from the balcony

Love the stair detailing

Fast Food jack pot – my kind of win!

Vintage cookbooks, I love the font and bright colours

I can hear the birds now – “cheap cheap cheap cheap…”

I remember as a 5 yr old thinking my quality of life would improve if only I had a themed lunchbox…any of these would have been SO rad!

And then there was this guy just taking a nap…

And then I had to visit one of my suppliers and rode through Times Square and saw this guy…

Totally lived up to his name…
