I’ve long been playing with the idea of a new logo for my brand, having been satisfied thus far with a simple arial lower case font it’s time to change it up a bit – influenced from my internship at Derek Lam whose label is simple, clean and easy to remember. So I put out an “A.P.B” on Facebook and my cousin Evan reminded me he was a graphic designer – hah! the things FB teaches us…
That was the simple part…it was like choosing my label name all over again. How I agonized over it! and got opinions and then had to ignore what most people said and just go with my instincts. I read an interesting article that gave five very simple points to abide by when deciding on your logo look:
- Describable
- Memorable
- Effective without colour
- Scalable i.e. work when just an inch in size
- Relevant to the industry in question
I’m really just writing this post to procrastinate making a final decision on the design…Evan gave me many choices that were good on their own and a couple that I’d like to continue to play with. These were some of my inspirations:
Well, wish me luck…
