Okay, are you ready! I just met Adrian the photographer for coffee this morning and we chatted about last nights escapades and he handed over a disc of the photos – gorgeous! It’s hard to choose which ones to put into the book!! But here are a few for you to see. Many many thanks again to Adrian Barry, Kathleen Cullen, Erin Brisbane and Louis Gruber!
Every time I do one of these I work myself in a stress puddle over the styling, the location(s), making sure everyone is comfortable and hoping that it looks how I imagine it will. Every time it comes together perfectly and I always wish that I could do it all over again! I really do love the styling part of it all, my years as a Visual Merchandiser always come to the fore on these occasions.
I’ve kind of been obsessed of late with the likes of CSI, Law & Order, Rookie Blues – any show on Hulu that pertains to murder/mystery. It seems I’m not alone in this, I found this through etsy - Lorena Turner worked on a project titled Made in China. She takes objects from regular department stores and bodegas, dusts them for prints and photographs them under a black light. Gorgeous images and a reminder that a human hand was behind it all.
These beautiful silk shirts from by Rachel Rose have the old world psychiatrist inkblot test about them. Of a Kind (who have a different designer each week for you to peek into their studios and then make a limited amount of handmade amazing-ness up for sale) worked with her some weeks back which you can see the whole interview here. Process photos taken from Of a Kind, the rest are from by Rachel Rose’s Etsy.
As always, gorgeous photos by Hedi Slimane of Amy Winehouse – beautiful tribute.
Belts are ready, and photographed! Aside from the nude all of them are hand painted by me. Cow hide, 42″ long brass buckle, meant to be twisted and tied. Going up in the store soon!
I always wonder what happens to stuff that gets confiscated during customs at the airport or in the postal system. Here is a glimpse as provided by Taryn Simon. The usual suspects like vegetable matter, drugs and counterfeit goods popped up and then there are the weird and unidentifiable…check the whole thing out HERE.

Oh boy it was a hot one today but Kathleen Cullen was cool as a cucumber ignoring the fact it was in the 90′s before noon…We shot around the L.E.S. starting out at Bluebird Cafe (thanks Alex Hall!) and then around and about NY. Huge huge thanks to another fantastic crew! I had a couple of repeat members, Adrian Barry and Erin Brisbane with buddy/gorgeous model Kathleen Cullen and videographer Louis Gruber. I’m very excited to see all the photos and for the first time to have Lou filming a behind the scenes. I am so lucky to have so many talented friends! that and New York city are my best ammunition for a slick collection!
I’m kind of going all patchwork at the moment. It’s definitely taken a little feature in the new FW11/12 collection that I’m shooting with Adrian Barry again on Monday. In and around NYC, it’s going to be so fun! Wish I had found this vest earlier, it would definitely fit in. Find it at Ramona West Vintage
You can push replay, I won’t tell anyone…
