Snowcicle

I got home late last night near on 3am and the streets hadn’t been plowed and it was all beautiful soft peaks of snow everywhere.  Having missed the big blizzard around Christmas I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to take some photos.  So I dumped my bag inside and went back out again with my camera, bounding in and out of the drifts in my neighbourhood until the snow had filled my boots.

Swan Lake vs Black Swan

Allegedly as a child I was the worlds worst ballerina but insisted on going back for several years running despite tears at the end of every season when I never won any awards…I remember loving the drama, the costumes and the make-up for the end of season performances – the weekly practices I wasn’t so into. Reading that Natalie Portman put in 5hr sessions 6 days a week makes me look super lazy, but hey – I was only 7.

This interview with the Rodarte sisters and the Swarovski team brings back all the beauty that I loved so much.  And reminds me I really must make a time to see the movie before it goes out of the cinemas.  I know I know, I’m the last person in America to see this movie…

Obey

One of my favourite things to do is to take my camera out and wander the streets taking photos.  Purposefully taking different routes to discover new things, definitely with a leaning toward street art.  Having been a long term fan of  Shepard Fairey, it’s great to see this interview with him on his views and why he does what he does.
